ABOUT COLIN REA

Colin Rea was originally drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 12th round of the 2011 MLB Draft out of Indiana State University. After working his way through the Padres’ minor league system, he made his Major League debut with San Diego in 2015, quickly establishing himself as a reliable arm in the rotation.

During the 2016 season, Rea was pitching well and showing promise before suffering an elbow injury that ultimately required Tommy John surgery. The recovery process is long and difficult for any pitcher, but Rea worked his way back and continued his professional career.

Following his time with the Padres, Rea’s career took him internationally when he pitched in Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) with the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, one of the most successful franchises in Japanese baseball. He became part of a championship-caliber organization and continued to refine his pitching at a high professional level.

After returning to the United States, Rea worked his way back to Major League Baseball with the Milwaukee Brewers & Chicago Cubs, where he has continued contributing as both a starter and reliever. His ability to battle back from injuries and remain effective at the highest level of professional baseball speaks to his determination and longevity in the game.

Today, Rea is still competing in Major League Baseball, making this jersey a great collectible tied to an active and resilient professional career.
